Dr. LaTissha Graves Nash
Dr. LaTissha Graves Nash is a native of Indianola, MS also residing with father in Marietta, Ga. She is a graduate of Gentry High School where she finished top 11 in her class. She furthered her education at Alcorn State University, receiving both her Bachelor of Arts in Science in Biology with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy with a certification in Sports training and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree with emphasis on Physical Education and Health.
She was the first to graduate in her family, starting the legacy that warranted her son Jafarr to receive a Legacy Scholarship, who also attends Alcorn State University majoring in Business Management and Sports Leadership. Latissha went on to also attain her Doctor of Education in organizational leadership from Grand Canyon University.
This is Dr. Graves Nash 17th year in education and 16th year in the classroom. She has taught 1st and 2nd grade, 7th and 8th grade, 9th through 12th grade and collegiate. In 2023 Dr. Nash was Named the Teacher of the Year at Forest Hill High School following awards that ranged from Best Dressed Educator, Coach of the year at Lanier High School, Most improved science scores (5th Grade) to Highest Biology Proficiency scores in the district. LaTissha has taught with Upward Bound TRIO program for 7 years on 3 collegiate campuses (Tougaloo, Hinds Community College, and Copiah Lincoln Community College).
Dr. Nash is now completing her cohort for a PhD, and coursework for certification in Paralegal Studies. Throughout the hardship Dr. Nash and her Daughters became the founders of MAF2.LLC, which means Moms and Daughters Marching Against Depression. Her daughters also co-own Enough, Girl Get up which a Christian ministry helping women through hardships of life, even their own.
