  • Approval of School Leader Incentives – Jackson Public Schools

    On April 6, 2021, the Jackson Public Schools (小黄书) Board of Trustees approved a comprehensive incentive program designed to retain, reward, and support school leaders across the district. The School Leader Incentive program went into effect at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year and includes the following components:

    • Retention Incentives: Assistant Principals and Principals will receive a $1,500 stipend for every five years of continuous service in their leadership roles, recognizing their long-term dedication to the district.
    • School Improvement Incentives: School leaders are eligible for monetary rewards based on the academic performance of their schools on state assessments:
      • $1,800 for maintaining an "A" or "B" status.
      • $2,500 for improving by one letter grade:
        • School letter grade improvement from F to D
        • School letter grade improvement from D to C
        • School letter grade improvement from C to B
        • School letter grade improvement from B to A
      • $3,000 for improving by two or more letter grades:
        • School letter grade improvement from F to C or higher
        • School letter grade improvement from D to B or higher
        • School letter grade improvement from C to A
    • Mentorship Stipend: Veteran principals selected to mentor new principals will receive stipends, fostering leadership development and collaborative support within the district.

    This incentive program is intended to enhance leadership stability, promote academic growth, and build a culture of mentorship and support in Jackson Public Schools.
