Overview
Casey Elementary is a designated Model Whole School and receives support from the Mississippi Arts Commission. The Mississippi Arts Commission is a state agency, which in turn is supported by funding from the Mississippi State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal Agency.
At Casey Elementary, the arts are an essential part of learning for each student. Teachers expose students to an arts-integrated curriculum each school day. It fosters a community of growth, artistic excellence, and self-awareness. It also enhances awareness of their contributions to the world and social-emotional learning.
Students receive quality lessons in music, visual arts, theater, dance, and media arts.
Casey Mission
The mission of Casey Elementary School is to focus on student achievement by providing a challenging and engaging curriculum for a diverse, multicultural, student body. In doing so, we incorporate the art forms of music, dance, drama, and visual arts into the curriculum. Each student is challenged to develop and achieve essential academic skills, and an appreciation and understanding of their artistic surroundings, in order to become a successful, well-rounded, productive citizen.
Casey Arts Pledge
I pledge to learn everything I can about myself and the world around me through the arts and all other subjects. I pledge to use my imagination to solve problems and to express my ideas because Casey is a creative arts school.
